Bugs. It happens.
I try to fix bugs and crashes as soon as I can but when releasing new versions in the AppStore I would prefer to leave big updates, with new functions and larger improvements. This however takes time to develop and users affected by bugs want the update soon. So if you are experiencing crashes, send me the UDID of your device and I will send you a beta version with a fix, before I can release it in the AppStore.
Current AppStore Version: 1.4.1
- Playlist crash for iPhone 3G (fixed in 1.4.2)
Current Testing Version: 1.4.2
- Fix for playlist crash iPhone 3G
- Switch between controlling Spotify volume and system volume
- Ability to play entire album from search
- Geo specific searches
To get the beta version, follow these steps:
- Plug in your device in iTunes
- Copy the device UDID and email it to support@spotremote.com
- I will send the new application along with a certificate to your mail
- Follow these steps to install the app: http://www.innerfence.com/howto/install-iphone-application-ad-hoc-distribution
Hi I like Spotremote but every time I select a song it only plays that individual song – NOT the whole playlist or album selected.
This doesn’t make a difference whether I choose “choose as current playlist” or not. It never plays the playlist or the album. I’ve made sure to update servers and the app on the phone.
Were it not for this one flaw, the iphone app would be great. But as it is it’s not really useable, because I never want to only play one song.
Any help would be much appreciated.
What version of OS X are you running? I have tested it on a few different versions, but could not get a hold of all. If you start Spotify via Terminal.app (located in /Applications/Utilities/) with this command:
/Applications/Spotify.app/Contents/MacOS/Spotify
Wait for it to load, connect with the remote and press “Choose as current playlist”. It should log some info in the Terminal window. Paste it here.

Hi, i’m having the same trouble as Alexi, when I press “Choose as current playlist” I can see it change view in spotify to show my playlist but the playlist isn’t activated so choosing a song in spot remote or clicking next only take me to the album of the song’s next song – not the playlists next song.
Tried to capture the log info from the terminal as I pressed “Choose as current playlist”:

Maybe i’m missing something here…thanks for a great app!
…another way of seeing this may be that even though I press “choose as current playlist” and then a song the remaining songs of that playlist isn’t added to my play queue – which is the case in the spotify native software….
Hi Mikael,
I have just sent in an update to the appstore that fixes all this. Playback will from now on be completely seamless, so when you select a track in a playlist Spotify will change to that track in that playlist. No stupid “Choose as current playlist” to think about
I hope it’ll be out soon!
That’s great.
cheers!
Hi,
i bought this app but i cant get any further..

Hey Tara, check out the Help section on the site: http://spotremote.com/help.php#zeroservers
Thanks for the feedback!
Hey,
I have read the comments above, I dl your app today 4th of march and I still have the problem but on the album. It plays one track and then jumps on a list of songs I played way back that seem to somehow remain in the queue. I have not tried the playlist that is really how I work with music.
Hope u have a fix!
Cheers
